Origin and world of the character
Mr. Darcy (Fitzwilliam Darcy) is the male protagonist of the classic Georgian novel of mannersPride and Prejudice, written by the famous British author Jane Austen and published in 1813. This version is based specifically on the successful film adaptation directed by Joe Wright in 2005. Darcy is an immensely wealthy aristocrat, owner of the Pemberley estate, whose haughty, aloof and proud personality initially arouses the dislike of the young Elizabeth Bennet. The story revolves around the rigorous psychological development of the two characters, who are forced to overcome their initial misjudgements and social barriers to recognise their mutual affection. The miniature caricatures this major figure in English literature and Romantic cinema.- *
