CHARACTER BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
Born in 2000 in Calchín, Julián Álvarez is an Argentine international footballer who plays as a forward. NicknamedLa Araña(The Spider) due to his agility, positioning and ability to win and retain possession, he made his name at Club Atlético River Plate before moving to Europe to play for Manchester City, then Atlético Madrid. A particularly versatile player who gives his all, he has become one of the very few footballers in history to have won the Copa Libertadores, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup. During Argentina’s victory at the 2022 World Cup, he established himself as an indispensable starter in attack alongside Lionel Messi, scoring four decisive goals during the tournament.
