A sure success for this manga
The manga has become so popular, that it was not possible to stop at a literary work, so that an adaptation in an animated series produced by the studio Mappa will be broadcast between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. The anime won the title of "Anime of the Year" at the Anime Awards 2021, crowning Gege Akutami's work with even more success. And even though the series had several breaks due to health problems of its author, this did not prevent the manga, published in French, from becoming the best launch of the publishing house in 2020, even going so far as to pass the popular shōnen, My Hero Academia, with 275,000 copies sold in the year of its launch!
Demons and exorcisms, the new life of Yuji Itadori
At the age of fifteen, Yuji Itadori is an ordinary high school student except that he is a member of his school's spiritualist club. He doesn't believe in ghosts, but the young man, with his incredible strength, is a great asset to the club's missions... until one of them goes wrong.
In Japan, there are more than 10,000 disappearances and deaths every year. Itadori learns that the cause of these deaths is actually the existence of Plagues. Hatred, resentment and revenge, as well as other negative emotions released by humans, feed the monsters that are the Scourges.
On his latest mission, Yuji and his comrades come face to face with a fearsome Scourge, drawn to a relic the young teens have been searching for. It is the severed finger of a thousand-year-old creature called Ryomen Sukuna. The students are in danger because the relic attracts monsters.
So without a moment's hesitation, Yuji Itadori swallows the relic to ward off the evil spell! By swallowing one of the twenty fingers of Ryomen Sukuna, he is possessed by the latter, who is none other than the famous two-faced demon. Against all odds, Yuji manages to regain control of his body. The young high school student then manages to develop new physical abilities that allow him to save his friends.
Now, Yuji is destined to become the vessel of this demon. However, he will be able to count on his master, Satoru Gojo, to help him master his new powers by training him in the mysterious school of exorcism, where he will learn the occult and mysterious art of this discipline. There he will meet Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki.
