Character background and universe (Lore)

Yuji Itadori is the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, a manga created by Gege Akutami. A secondary school pupil with extraordinary physical abilities, he finds himself plunged into the world of exorcism after swallowing a finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, one of the most powerful curses in history.

This act makes Yuji a vessel for Sukuna, whilst initially allowing him to retain control of his own body. He then joins the Tokyo Exorcism School under the supervision of Satoru Gojo, where he learns to fight the Curses alongside Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki.

Yuji stands out for his immense physical strength, his courage and his determination to find meaning in the deaths of those he encounters. His existence, however, becomes inextricably linked to that of Sukuna, whose presence within him represents both a threat and a central element of the plot.
