Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

SpongeBob is a young resident of Bikini Bottom, an underwater town situated at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Always enthusiastic, he works as a chef at the Krusty Krab and shares his daily life with Gary, his pet snail. His optimism, imagination and keen interest in jellyfish fishing are at the heart of many of his adventures.

Patrick Star is his best friend and neighbour. Recognisable by his pink colour and his green floral shorts, he stands out for his carefree nature, his unpredictable reasoning and his great loyalty to SpongeBob. Despite their many blunders, the two friends remain inseparable and embody the friendship, good humour and comic spirit of the series.
