Origin and world of the character
The duo is based on the famous American animated series SpongeBobSquarePants, created by Stephen Hillenburg in 1999 for Nickelodeon. This particular figure was inspired by the cult epic "My Name is Mystery"(My Pretty Seahorse, season 3). In this episode, SpongeBob befriends a wild seahorse whom he names Mystery and tries to adopt by hiding him at the Krusty Krab restaurant. The tender, humorous relationship between the optimistic SpongeBob and the unruly animal (who spends his time devouring the customers' crab cakes and hats) is one of the franchise's best-loved adventures, immortalised here in this dynamic collectible format.
