Origin and background of the Bisounours (Lore)

The Care Bears, known internationally as the Bisounours, first appeared in the early 1980s before going on to become the stars of animated series, films and a wide range of merchandise.

These adorable bears live in a wonderful world above the clouds, often referred to as Care Bear Country. Each has a unique personality and, most importantly, a distinctive symbol on their tummy, known as a ‘belly badge’ in the original version.
