Keep your savings safe under the watchful eye of a little Space Ranger with this Alien figurine money box dressed as Buzz Lightyear, designed by Monogram International. Inspired by the Toy Story universe, it combines the famous green alien from Pizza Planet with Buzz’s iconic outfit in a humorous and colourful design.

This version follows the ‘Alien Remix’ concept, in which one of the Aliens takes on the appearance of another Pixar character. The figurine thus retains its three eyes, pointed ears and antenna, whilst wearing Buzz Lightyear’s white, green and purple space suit.

A slot at the back allows you to insert coins and small folded banknotes. The contents can then be retrieved via a removable plug located beneath the base, without damaging the piggy bank.

Origin and character lore

The Pizza Planet Aliens are small, green, three-eyed aliens discovered by Woody and Buzz in a claw machine at the Pizza Planet restaurant. Fascinated by the large mechanical claw, which they regard as a sort of higher authority, they wait in awe to be selected by it.

Several Aliens are subsequently taken in by Mr Potato Head and Mrs Potato Head. Despite their almost identical appearance and collective behaviour, they prove to be grateful, loyal and particularly enthusiastic when they are reunited with their friends.

Buzz Lightyear, meanwhile, is a toy depicting a Space Ranger tasked with protecting the galaxy from Emperor Zurg. Upon arriving in Andy’s bedroom, he initially believes himself to be a real space hero rather than a toy figure.

His encounter with Woody gradually leads him to accept his true nature. Despite their initial rivalry, the two toys become inseparable friends and embark on many adventures together to find Andy and protect the other members of their group.

The Alien Remix collection combines these two facets of the Pixar universe by depicting the Aliens dressed as various characters. This piggy bank thus reimagines Buzz Lightyear’s uniform whilst retaining the wide-eyed expression and three eyes characteristic of the Pizza Planet aliens.
