Origin and world of the character
Lolth (also known as Queen of the Spiders or Queen of the Pits of the Demonic Web) is a major fictional deity from the campaign setting of the high fantasy tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons (Dungeons & Dragons). Evolving mainly within the pantheon of the drow (dark elves), she is a malevolent and chaotic entity who resides in the Abyss. Lolth uses her tyrannical influence to rule over the matriarchal society of the drow, demanding absolute worship based on cunning, betrayal and sacrifice, while punishing failure by turning her fallen subjects into driders (half-elf, half-spider creatures). She is traditionally depicted as a dark elf of great beauty or a giant spider with a human torso, manipulating magical and physical networks to extend her influence over Shadowland (Underdark).
