Origin and background of the characters

Dragon Ball is one of Akira Toriyama’s major works and a cornerstone of Japanese adventure manga. The series begins as a fantastical quest centred on the Dragon Balls, objects capable of granting a wish when gathered together.

Son Goku is a naive young boy, incredibly strong and raised far from civilisation. His encounter with Bulma, a brilliant inventor and daughter of the founder of Capsule Corporation, marks the start of their journey. Together, they set out in search of the Dragon Balls and gradually encounter the characters who would go on to form the series’ cult universe.

This Fantastic Adventure 3 figurine pays tribute to this founding duo. It highlights the most adventurous and humorous period of Dragon Ball, when the story centred on exploration, vehicles, gadgets, strange creatures and their first travelling companions.
