This 38cm plush represents the Fat Chocobo, a recurring and iconic mount from the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV. Designed by manufacturer Square Enix, this collector's item is made from flexible polyester fibre. The design reproduces the creature's massive, rounded proportions, featuring bright yellow plumage, disproportionately small wings, an orange beak and short legs. The Big Chocobo is a legendary and extremely voracious variant of the Chocobo race, the traditional birds used as mounts in the saga. In the Final Fantasy XIV universe, this creature is distinguished from other members of its species by its immense corpulence, dictated by its insatiable appetite. To encourage this unusual Chocobo to move and fly despite its weight, its rider must hang a delicacy, usually a Gysahl cabbage, from the end of a fishing rod held in front of the animal's beak.
