Origin and background of the character

Released in cinemas in 1984 and directed by Joe Dante, *Gremlins* is a cult horror comedy that has left its mark on pop culture history. The plot thickens when young Billy receives a Mogwai for Christmas – a strange little furry creature named Gizmo. Caring for him requires strict adherence to three fundamental rules: do not expose him to bright light, do not get him wet and, above all, never feed him after midnight. This iconic model is inspired by the cult film scene in which Gizmo wears cardboard 3D glasses to watch a film, perfectly capturing the innocence and whimsy of this timeless character.
