Hermione Jean Weasley (née Granger) was born on 19 September 1979 to Muggle parents who were dentists. Admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and sorted into Gryffindor House, she distinguished herself from her very first year through her studious nature, great sensitivity and exceptional academic abilities. After an initial encounter on the Hogwarts Express, she befriends Harry Potter and Ron Weasley following a confrontation with a mountain troll. Indispensable to the trio, she gave up her final year of studies to accompany Harry on the hunt for the Horcruxes and the final battle against Lord Voldemort’s forces.
