Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media and launched in 2007. She was originally conceived as a voice bank enabling musicians to create their own songs using voice synthesis software.

Her instantly recognisable design, characterised by her long turquoise pigtails and futuristic appearance, quickly saw her transcend the confines of music software.

Thanks to the thousands of songs, illustrations, music videos and creations produced by her community, Miku has gradually become a true icon of Japanese digital culture.

The Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series of games, developed around this musical universe, allows players to perform numerous songs by Miku and other Piapro characters in rhythm games accompanied by fully animated music videos.

Project DIVA MEGA39’s is one of the major instalments in this series and brings together a large number of songs from the history of Project DIVA.
