Character background and lore

Nobunaga Hazama is a member of the formidable Phantom Brigade, also known as the Genei Ryodan, a group of particularly powerful and wanted criminals in the Hunter x Hunter universe.

Nobunaga stands out above all for his appearance and fighting style, which are directly inspired by traditional swordsmen. He wields a katana and favours close-quarters combat, where his speed and mastery of the weapon become particularly dangerous.

Despite the Brigade’s criminal activities, its members share very strong bonds with one another. Nobunaga exemplifies this aspect of the group particularly well through his attachment to Uvogin, with whom he formed a particularly effective partnership.

Uvogin’s disappearance during the events in Yorknew City deeply affects Nobunaga and reveals a more emotional side to his character. Behind his aggressive demeanour and love of combat lies a man who is deeply loyal to his companions.

He also develops a certain curiosity towards Gon Freecss, whose determination and personality remind him, in part, of Uvogin. This relationship gives rise to several scenes in which Nobunaga appears less cold than his membership of the Phantom Brigade might suggest.

Like the other members of the group, he has mastered Nen, which he combines with his skills as a swordsman to enhance his effectiveness in battle.

This Noodle Stopper figurine, however, takes a deliberately more subdued approach to the character: rather than depicting Nobunaga in the heat of a duel, it shows him seated with his sword, in a pose that retains his warrior identity whilst fitting perfectly with the laid-back concept of the FuRyu range.
