Player's world and background

Roberto Baggio, born in 1967, is an Italian international footballer who played as a playmaker or second striker from 1982 to 2004. Nicknamed "Il Divin Codino" (the divine one with the ponytail), he wore the national team jersey 56 times and scored 27 goals between 1988 and 2004. He took part in three World Cup finals (1990, 1994 and 1998). At the 1994 edition in the United States, he led Italy to the final, scoring 5 decisive goals during the knockout phase. Winner of the Ballon d'Or in 1993, he is renowned for his vision of the game, his technical precision, his control of the ball and his effectiveness from free-kicks. This figurine commemorates his status as a historic figure of international football in the Italian national team shirt.
