Character background and lore

Satoru Gojo is a special-rank exorcist and a teacher at the Tokyo Exorcism School. Regarded as the most powerful exorcist of his time, he trains Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, amongst others, to prepare a new generation capable of transforming the world of exorcism.

Gojo comes from a prestigious family of exorcists and possesses two particularly rare hereditary abilities: the Power of Infinity and the Six Eyes. This combination allows him to perceive occult energy with precision and to control the space around him.

He uses his black eye patch to limit the information constantly perceived by the Six Eyes. When he removes it, his blue eyes become visible and he can utilise the full extent of his abilities more freely.

Among his most formidable techniques are the Attraction of Blue, the Repulsion of Red and the combination known as Violet, capable of obliterating anything in its path. His territorial expansion technique, the Sphere of Infinite Space, overwhelms his opponents with an unlimited amount of information.

Behind his playful, provocative and sometimes immature behaviour, Gojo pursues a serious goal: to reform an exorcists’ society that he deems conservative and corrupt. To this end, he relies on his students, whom he regards as the future agents of lasting change.
