Origin and character lore

Tetsuya Kuroko and Taiga Kagami form the heart of Kuroko’s Basket. As members of the Seirin High School team, they have radically different yet highly complementary playing styles.

Kuroko is a former member of the famous Generation of Miracles. Unlike his former teammates, he is distinguished neither by exceptional physical strength nor by spectacular techniques. His main talent lies in his almost imperceptible presence on the court, which he exploits through ‘Misdirection’ to divert his opponents’ attention and make unpredictable passes.

Kagami, by contrast, has an impressive physical presence. Athletic, powerful and blessed with exceptional leaping ability, he quickly becomes one of the few players capable of rivalling the members of the Generation of Miracles. His ambition is to become Japan’s best player and to defeat them one by one with Kuroko’s help.
