Itchy is the star mouse of *The Itchy & Scratchy Show*, a fictional cartoon regularly watched by Bart and Lisa in *The Simpsons*. The series parodies classic cartoons based on the rivalry between a cat and a mouse, but takes the violence to a deliberately absurd and excessive level.

Itchy generally embodies the cunning and aggressive mouse who consistently gets the better of Scratchy, the hapless cat. Each fictional episode is built around a succession of traps, chases and extremely violent gags, used as a satire on the violence in traditional cartoons.
