Origin and character lore

Stitch, also known asExperiment 626, is an alien creature genetically engineered to cause chaos and destruction. After escaping from the Galactic Federation, he crash-lands on Earth, in the Hawaiian archipelago.

To evade his pursuers, Stitch disguises himself as a dog and is adopted by Lilo, a lonely young Hawaiian girl living with her older sister Nani. Behind his mischievous exterior, the alien gradually discovers loyalty, friendship and a sense of belonging.

Lilo teaches him the principle of‘ohana’, the Hawaiian concept of family. This new relationship transforms Stitch, turning him from a machine of destruction into a protective companion deeply attached to his adoptive family.
