Origin and character lore

Stitch, also known asExperiment 626, is an alien creature created by the scientist Jumba Jookiba. Endowed with exceptional strength, great intelligence and a destructive temperament, he was designed to cause chaos.

After escaping from captivity, Stitch arrives on Earth and takes refuge in Hawaii. He is adopted by Lilo Pelekai, a young girl living with her older sister Nani. Lilo gradually teaches him the value of‘ohana’, a principle whereby a family must never abandon or forget any of its members.

Through his time with Lilo, Stitch overcomes his original programming and becomes a loyal and protective companion. However, he retains his mischievous nature, his penchant for getting up to mischief and an energy that is difficult to channel.

Angel, also known asExperiment 624, is a genetically engineered creature created before Stitch. Her pink appearance and long antennae are strikingly similar to those of Experiment 626, with whom she develops an emotional bond.

Angel possesses a special ability linked to her voice. When she sings her melody backwards, she can reactivate the destructive tendencies of genetic experiments that have been made benevolent. Sung forwards, the same song cancels out this effect.

Initially used to manipulate Stitch, Angel eventually grows genuinely attached to him and gradually becomes part of his circle of friends. Their relationship is based on a mix of camaraderie, light-hearted rivalry and affection, which explains why they are frequently featured together on Disney merchandise.

This cover thus brings together two complementary characters: Stitch, the blue experiment who has become part of a Hawaiian family, and Angel, his pink counterpart who is able to understand both his alien nature and his desire to belong.
