Origin and character background (Lore)

Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, is an alien creature created by the scientist Dr Jumba Jookiba. Originally designed to be extremely resilient, intelligent and destructive, he escapes and eventually ends up on Earth, where he meets Lilo Pelekai in Hawaii.

Lilo adopts him, thinking he is a strange animal, and gradually introduces him to the concept of ‘ohana’, which means ‘family’ in the saga’s universe. This relationship profoundly transforms Stitch, who goes from being a creature programmed to wreak havoc to a lovable character who is extremely loyal to those he considers his family.

Despite his boisterous nature and penchant for mischief, Stitch stands out for his great sensitivity and his devotion to Lilo. This duality between mischief and tenderness has become one of the main reasons for his popularity.

The heart motif on this cushion specifically highlights this affectionate side of the character and evokes one of the central themes of *Lilo & Stitch*: the importance of bonds, friendship and family.
