Origin and world of the character
Count Dooku (also known as Darth Tyranus, the Sith Lord) is a major antagonist in the Star Wars film saga, appearing mainly in the prequel trilogy (Episodes II and III). A respected former Jedi Master and trainer of Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku chose to renounce the Jedi Order after losing faith in the Galactic Republic, allowing himself to be seduced by the Dark Side under the aegis of Darth Sidious. Now the official political leader of the Confederation of Independent Systems, he orchestrated the Separatist movement to provoke the Clone Wars. Renowned for his elegance, his style of combat with the curved-handled lightsabre and his mastery of Force lightning, this character played a pivotal role in the fall of the Republic.
