MAZINGER Z - Mazinger - Figure SMP Pilder On Set 13cm

This plastic model kit is part of the SMP (Shokugan Modelling Project) range from manufacturer Banpresto. This deluxe set features the giant robot Mazinger Z in a colour scheme faithful to its appearance in the original 1972 animated series. Designed as a model kit, the set includes numerous removable and interchangeable parts, allowing you to reproduce all the functions and weaponry of the mechanised robot. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 13 cm tall.

Created by manga artist Go Nagai,Mazinger Zis a major work in the history of Japanese science fiction, considered the founder of the ‘Mecha’ genre (giant robots piloted from within). The plot follows the young pilot Koji Kabuto at the controls of a combat robot built from Z-alloy, a fictional ultra-strong metal, designed to repel the mechanical assaults of the mad scientist Doctor Hell. The machine’s full arsenal, including its thrusters and flying control modules (the Pilders) which slot directly into the robot’s head, has become a global cultural icon. In Europe, this universe is closely linked to that ofUFO Robot Grendizer(known asGoldorak), a later series based on the same mythology and created by the same author.
