Origin and character lore

The Creeper is one of Minecraft’s most iconic hostile creatures. It is recognisable by its vertical green body, four small legs and its dark, pixelated face.

Unlike many of the game’s enemies, the Creeper does not have a conventional direct attack. It approaches the player silently before beginning to swell and emit a distinctive whistling sound. Moments later, it explodes, dealing damage and destroying the blocks around it.
