Origin and background of the licence

One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who sets sail with the ambition of discovering the legendary treasure known as One Piece and becoming the Pirate King. Throughout his journey, he gathers the Straw Hat Crew, each member of whom is also pursuing their own dream.
