Vogue Merry Decorative Box — One Piece — Nemesis Now — 18.5 cm

Set sail on the Grand Line with this decorative box featuring the Vogue Merry, the Straw Hat Crew’s first ship. Designed by Nemesis Now under an official One Piece licence, this resin creation combines a detailed collectable sculpture with a compartment for storing small items.

The ship is depicted in the midst of a voyage, resting on a sculpted base that mimics the waves and spray of the ocean. Its wooden hull, masts, rigging and sails are rendered in relief, whilst the bow features the famous sheep’s head designed by Merry. The large centre sail bears the Straw Hat emblem against a red and white striped background.

The sculpture has a hand-painted finish designed to highlight the textures of the wood, the sails and the water. The shades of brown, beige, red and blue add depth to the overall effect, whilst the ship’s tilted posture reinforces the impression of movement. Due to this handcrafted finish, slight variations in appearance may exist between individual pieces.

The upper section of the Vogue Merry is removable and conceals a storage compartment. This can hold jewellery, coins, keys or other small personal items. This feature transforms the model ship into an accessory that is as practical as it is decorative, suitable for a shelf, a desk or a display cabinet dedicated to One Piece.

Origin and lore of the ship

The Vogue Merry, known as the Going Merry in the original version, is the first proper ship of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. Designed by Merry, Kaya’s butler, it was given to the pirates following the events at Syrup Village. Its sheep’s-head prow and caravel-like silhouette quickly made it one of the most recognisable features of the first part of One Piece.

On board, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji and their first crewmates sail across the East Blue before setting out onto the Grand Line. The ship accompanies them to Alabasta, Skypiea and Water Seven, amongst other places, as they face storms, battles and particularly gruelling sailing conditions.

As it sustained more and more damage, the Merry’s structure gradually became beyond repair. This situation led to a painful conflict between Luffy and Usopp, with the latter refusing to abandon the ship given to them by Kaya. The crew, however, realised that the Merry could no longer continue the journey safely.

The ship nevertheless demonstrates a kind of will of its own through its Klabautermann, a spirit associated with ships that are deeply loved and cared for by their crews. It returns one last time to save the Straw Hats at Enies Lobby before being given a burial at sea.

The Vogue Merry is thus regarded as much more than a mere means of transport: it represents the beginnings of the adventure, the crew’s first bonds, and a true travelling companion. This decorative box captures this emotional significance by transforming the ship into an object designed to hold small, precious mementos.
