Origin and backstory of the character

In Pacific Rim, humanity builds gigantic piloted robots called Jaegers to fight the Kaiju, colossal creatures emerging from the depths of the Pacific Ocean.

Cherno Alpha is a Russian-designed Jaeger, recognisable by its particularly heavy armour and industrial silhouette. Piloted by the couple Sasha and Aleksis Kaidanovsky, it is designed to prioritise durability and close-quarters combat power over speed.
