Celebrate thirty years of Pokémon with this display of six 20 cm pastel soft toys, designed by Jazwares to mark the anniversary of the famous franchise. This commemorative set brings together several fan-favourite Pokémon in colours that are deliberately softer than their usual shades.

The series comprises four designs: Pikachu, Mentali, Morpeko and Goupix. Each soft toy retains the shape and distinctive features of the Pokémon it represents, but features a light colour palette of soft yellows, powdery pinks, beiges and greys. The promotional image for the range showcases these four characters and their shared pastel colour scheme.

Pikachu is depicted in a pale yellow, with its long ears tipped in brown, red cheeks and a small, smiling mouth. Its rounded proportions and plump tummy give it a particularly soft appearance, making it suitable for both play and display.

Mentali retains its slender, feline silhouette, its long tail split at the tip and the red gem on its forehead. Its usually mauve fur takes on a very light pink hue here, whilst the bluish interior of its ears provides a subtle contrast.

Morpeko appears in its Sated form, recognisable by its body divided into two distinct colour zones. For this edition, the brown, black and yellow tones have been replaced by shades of cream, beige and light grey. Its pink cheeks, open mouth and raised little arms nevertheless retain its cheerful expression.

Goupix completes the selection with its large ears, curled fringe and six distinctive tails. Its orange fur has been reworked into a very light peach shade, whilst its tufts and tails retain slightly deeper shades.

Each soft toy measures approximately 20 cm, or around eight inches. The toys are made from soft fabrics and come with a special illustrated Pokémon label. The manufacturer presents this collection as an official range of cuddly toys, suitable for both gift-giving and collecting.

Origin and world of Pokémon

The Pokémon franchise began in Japan in 1996 with the first video games developed by Game Freak. Its universe centres on the discovery of creatures with a variety of characteristics and abilities, which Trainers can encounter, train and enter into battles.

The 30th anniversary, celebrated in 2026, pays tribute to three decades of video games, trading cards, animated series, films and merchandise. This Jazwares range takes a deliberately soft and decorative approach, reimagining several characters from different generations using a pastel colour palette.

Pikachu belongs to the first generation. This Electric-type Pokémon stores energy in its cheeks before releasing it as electric shocks. Its role as the main partner in the animated series has made it the character most immediately associated with the franchise.

Its inclusion in this anniversary collection directly represents the origins of Pokémon. The soft colours of the soft toy tone down its usual yellow without altering its essential features: pointed ears, red cheeks and a lightning-shaped tail.

Mentali is one of Eevee’s many possible evolutions. Introduced in Generation II, this Psychic-type Pokémon traditionally evolves when its bond with its Trainer becomes strong enough during the day.

The red gem on its forehead allows it to focus its psychic powers. Its long, forked tail and feline silhouette give it an elegant appearance, further enhanced here by the powder-pink colour of the anniversary edition.

Morpeko belongs to the eighth generation. This Electric- and Dark-type Pokémon has the ability to change its form depending on how hungry it is. In its Full form, it takes on a cheerful expression and a combination of light colours; when it becomes hungry, its appearance and behaviour become much darker.

The soft toy depicts its Full form. Its two coloured halves remain visible despite the pastel finish, preserving the distinctive visual design of the character.

Goupix is a Fire-type Pokémon from the first generation. It is born with a single white tail, which splits and gradually changes colour as it grows. The six tails featured on this soft toy correspond to its classic appearance before it evolves into Feunard.

Its design fits naturally within the pastel range. Its orange fur and curls take on peach and cream tones, whilst its silhouette remains instantly recognisable.

The choice of these four Pokémon spans several eras of the franchise. Pikachu and Goupix evoke the series’ early days, Mentali represents the expansion of the evolution mechanics introduced in the second generation, and Morpeko exemplifies the designs developed several decades later.
