Character background and lore

Jango Fett is one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy in the period leading up to the Clone Wars. He appears primarily in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, where he works notably for Count Dooku and the forces behind the future clone army.

His genetic material is used by the Kaminoans to create the vast army of clone troopers intended for the Galactic Republic. In exchange for this contribution, Jango requests, amongst other things, that an unmodified clone be created for him: Boba Fett, whom he raises as his son.

Jango wears Mandalorian-inspired armour equipped with numerous gadgets, including a jetpack, blasters and various built-in devices. His T-shaped visor helmet has become one of the character’s most recognisable visual features.

Although his role in the saga is relatively brief, Jango Fett occupies a key place in the history of Star Wars, as he is the genetic origin of the clone army and the adoptive father of Boba Fett.
