Origin and character background (Lore)

Art the Clown is the main antagonist of the Terrifier franchise, created by director Damien Leone. Recognisable by his black-and-white clown costume, his made-up face and his almost total lack of dialogue, Art has established himself as one of the major new figures in contemporary slasher cinema.

The character is distinguished by his theatrical and grotesque behaviour, alternating between comical facial expressions and extreme violence. Unlike many killers in classic slasher films, Art conveys a great deal of his personality through his gestures and facial expressions, which makes his silent demeanour particularly unsettling.
