Character background and lore

Grogu is a young Force-sensitive alien belonging to the same mysterious species as the Jedi Masters Yoda and Yaddle. Despite his infant-like appearance, he has already lived for several decades due to his species’ exceptionally slow ageing process.

During his youth, Grogu was trained at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He survived the fall of the Jedi Order and the execution of Order 66, but the events that followed forced him to gradually conceal his abilities and part of his past.

After the fall of the Empire, he becomes the target of several bounty hunters and Imperial officials keen to exploit his connection to the Force. Din Djarin, a Mandalorian initially tasked with capturing him, ultimately decides to protect him. Their relationship develops into a genuine family bond.

Grogu is able to move objects, repel opponents and communicate with other Force users. Using these powers, however, requires a great deal of energy and often leaves him exhausted. He later receives further training from Luke Skywalker, before choosing to rejoin Din Djarin and continue his adventures by his side.
