Origin and background of the character

In 101 Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita are the parents of a litter of Dalmatian puppies coveted by Cruella de Vil. When the puppies are kidnapped, their parents organise a massive rescue operation with the help of other animals.

Patch is distinguished by the large black patch around his eye. A fan of the TV dog Thunderbolt, he dreams of being just like him and performing true heroic deeds. This admiration forms the starting point for 101 Dalmatians 2: The Search for Heroes, in which Patch meets his idol and sets off on an adventure with him.
