Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag — Edward Kenway — 110 cm 1/2-scale Prestige Line Statue

The legendary pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway joins PureArts’ prestigious Prestige Line collection with this monumental 1/2 scale statue. Inspired by Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, this museum-quality piece depicts the famous captain in a confident pose, ready to face his enemies with his sabre and flintlock pistol.

Edward is depicted in his iconic pirate Assassin outfit, comprising several layers of clothing, a hood, pieces of armour and numerous accessories. The fabric elements, genuine leather and metal parts provide a wide variety of textures and enhance the overall realism.

The portrait benefits from a particularly elaborate design. The silicone skin, glass eyes, and individually implanted hair, eyebrows and facial hair give the face a highly realistic appearance. This finish allows for a precise reproduction of Edward Kenway’s determined expression and distinctive features.

The statue stands approximately 110 cm tall and rests on a finely sculpted plinth inspired by the Jackdaw, the ship commanded by Edward in the game. The Assassin’s Creed IV logo is incorporated into the base to complete the presentation and serve as a direct reminder of the Black Flag universe.

Produced as a limited edition of 500 numbered copies, each statue features an individual base plate and a certificate of authenticity bearing the same edition number.

Character background and lore

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is set primarily in the Caribbean in the early 18th century, during the Golden Age of Piracy. The game blends historical events, maritime exploration and a secret conflict between the Assassins, defenders of freedom, and the Templars, who seek to impose order and control.

Edward Kenway is an ambitious Welsh sailor who leaves home in the hope of making his fortune in the West Indies. He quickly becomes a pirate and takes command of the Jackdaw, a ship he gradually upgrades to take on military vessels, explore the islands and take part in the great naval battles of his era.

Early in his adventure, Edward seizes an Assassin’s outfit after defeating Duncan Walpole. At first, he uses this identity to pursue his own interests, without fully understanding the war between the Assassins and the Templars.

His journey leads him to meet several historical figures from the world of piracy, notably Edward ‘Blackbeard’ Thatch, Mary Read, Anne Bonny, Benjamin Hornigold and Charles Vane. His alliances, his losses and the consequences of his obsession with wealth gradually force him to question his choices.

Edward also discovers the existence ofthe Observatory, an ancient site linked to the First Civilisation and capable of locating any person using a sample of their blood. The Templars wish to use this power to monitor and control the population, whilst the Assassins seek to prevent its exploitation.

As the story unfolds, Edward gradually abandons his purely personal quest and embraces the principles of the Brotherhood. He eventually becomes a true Assassin, putting his experience as a pirate, his navigational skills and his combat abilities at the service of a greater cause.

This Prestige Line statue depicts him in his dual identity as both a pirate and an Assassin: sabre in hand, pistol ready to fire, and wearing his iconic outfit, complemented by a base inspired by the Jackdaw. It pays tribute to his evolution, from a privateer driven by the pursuit of wealth to one of the most memorable characters in the Assassin’s Creed saga.
