Chainsaw Man is the main character in the eponymous manga written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which was later adapted into an internationally successful animated series. The plot is set in an alternative world where human fears come to life in the form of demons of varying power. The story follows Denji, a young man deep in debt who scrapes by working as an underground devil hunter alongside Pochita, the chainsaw demon. After being mortally wounded by the yakuza, Denji fuses his heart with Pochita’s, becoming a rare hybrid capable of transforming his head and limbs into functional chainsaws by pulling a cord on his chest. He then joins the official Public Safety Organisation to continue hunting down the malevolent entities threatening society.
