Courage is the hero of the animated series *Courage the Cowardly Dog*, created by John R. Dilworth for Cartoon Network. A small, extremely timid pink dog, he lives with Muriel and Eustace Bagge on a remote farm in the middle of nowhere.

Despite his name and anxious nature, Courage regularly displays remarkable bravery when Muriel or Eustace are threatened by monsters, aliens, ghosts or other supernatural phenomena.

The series blends horror, absurd humour and surreal animation, with a deliberately unsettling atmosphere that contrasts with Courage’s endearing personality.
