History and background of the model
The Parisian group Daft Punk, formed in 1993, revolutionised the world music scene and popularised the French Touch movement. For the release of their major album Discovery in 2001 (including the worldwide hits One More Time and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger), the duo decided to abandon their satin masks for good in favour of sophisticated cybernetic robot helmets designed by Tony Gardner. This radical visual transformation became the band's permanent graphic identity, and was also used as the visual basis for the animated film Interstella 5555, supervised by Leiji Matsumoto.Designed by Funko, this collector's pack commemorates the futuristic, retro-lit aesthetic developed by the two musicians during this pivotal creative era in their musical careers.
