Origin and character background (Lore)

Inosuke Hashibira is one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, a manga created by Koyoharu Gotouge. Raised far from civilisation, he has developed a particularly impulsive, competitive and instinctive personality, as well as a fighting style that is very different from that of the other Demon Slayers.

He is instantly recognisable by his famous boar-head mask, which he wears almost constantly, as well as his two Nichirin swords with deliberately serrated blades. Inosuke uses the Beast Breathing style, a technique he developed himself, which relies on his extremely keen senses, his agility and his extraordinary reflexes.

After meeting Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke gradually becomes one of their most loyal companions. Behind his aggressive behaviour and constant need to challenge others, a loyal, courageous character who is deeply devoted to his comrades gradually emerges.

His explosive temperament, his iconic mask and his spectacular fighting style have made Inosuke one of the most popular and instantly recognisable characters in the Demon Slayer universe.
