Character background and lore

Reuben, or Experiment 625, is one of many genetically engineered creatures illegally created by the alien scientist Jumba Jookiba. He first appears in *Stitch! The Movie*, before becoming a recurring character in *Lilo & Stitch: The Series*.

Created just before Stitch, Reuben theoretically possesses the same physical abilities as Experiment 626, including exceptional strength, great agility and remarkable stamina. However, he rarely uses his powers, preferring to relax, comment on events with sarcasm and make sandwiches.

Early in his story, Reuben works mainly alongside Captain Gantu, tasked with capturing the other experiments on behalf of Dr Hämsterviel. His lack of motivation and his love of food, however, make him far less threatening than Stitch.

In *Lilo & Stitch: The Series*, the experiments created by Jumba arrive on Earth in the form of dehydrated capsules. Once activated by water, each one reveals a special ability. Lilo and Stitch must then track them down, give them names and help them discover where their powers can be put to good use.

Reuben, too, eventually finds his place within this large family of experiments. Behind his apparent laziness, he proves capable of courage and loyalty when Stitch or his loved ones are truly under threat.

This soft toy therefore represents one of Stitch’s most recognisable cousins, loved for his humour, his laid-back nature and his almost inexhaustible passion for sandwiches.
