Origin and character background (Lore)

Snow White is a young princess whose beauty and kindness arouse the jealousy of her stepmother, the Queen. Every day, the Queen asks her magic mirror who is the fairest in the land. When the mirror tells her that Snow White is fairer, she decides to have the young girl killed.

Tasked with killing her, the huntsman is unable to carry out his mission and advises her to flee into the forest. There, Snow White discovers a little cottage belonging to seven dwarfs: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey.

Thanks to her gentle nature, the princess quickly befriends the dwarfs and the animals of the forest. Dopey, the youngest and most innocent of the group, develops a particular fondness for her. The scene depicted by this statuette illustrates the joyful bond that unites them during their life in the cottage.

The Queen eventually tracks down Snow White, however, and disguises herself as an old woman to offer her a poisoned apple. Plunged into a deep sleep, the princess can only be awakened by true love. The prince’s kiss finally breaks the spell and allows Snow White to begin a new life by his side.
