Origin and character universe
The Aliens, originally known as "Squeeze Toy Aliens", made their first appearance in the groundbreaking animated film Toy Story, released in 1995. Trapped in a giant claw machine at the Pizza Planet theme restaurant, they worship "The Grappler" as a deity who selects the chosen ones for a better world. After being rescued from the clutches of the terrible Sid Phillips by Mr Potato Head, three of them join Andy’s gang of toys for good, adopting him as their spiritual father with their iconic collective line: “You saved us, we owe you eternal gratitude!” In the fourth instalment, they accompany Woody, Buzz and Bonnie on their grand road trip, perfectly embodying the absurd humour and spirit of solidarity that are inseparable from the Pixar franchise.
