Android 8, also known by the nickname Hacchan, appears in the early story arcs of Dragon Ball. He was created by the Red Ribbon Army, a military organisation seeking to get its hands on the Dragon Balls.
Despite his massive build and great strength, Android 8 detests violence and refuses to obey orders when they involve killing. This peaceful nature immediately sets him apart from the organisation’s other creations.
He quickly befriends Son Goku, whom he helps during the events surrounding the Muscle Tower and the Red Ribbon Army. Their relationship helps to make Android 8 one of the first benevolent androids encountered in the saga.
Long before the arrival of characters such as C-17, C-18 or Cell in Dragon Ball Z, Android 8 had already introduced the theme of artificial beings created by the Red Ribbon Army. This 10 cm History Box figurine thus pays tribute to a historic and particularly endearing character from the Dragon Ball universe.
