Origin and background of the characters

Son Goku and Vegeta are two Saiyans with contrasting personalities. Goku is primarily driven by his desire to improve and to test himself against ever-stronger opponents. Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans, is characterised by his pride and openly regards Goku as his main rival.
