Character background and lore

Tapion is a warrior from the planet Konats, who appeared in the film Dragon Ball Z: The Attack of the Dragon. Together with his brother Minotia, he once took part in the battle against Hildegarn, a gigantic monster created by evil sorcerers. In order to imprison the creature, its body was split into two parts, each of which was sealed within one of the two brothers.

Tapion uses the melody of his ocarina to keep the upper half of Hildegarn sealed within him and prevent the monster from breaking free. After arriving on Earth, he forms a brotherly bond with Trunks, to whom he eventually entrusts his sword. Courageous and melancholic, Tapion has remained a particularly beloved character for his appearance as a legendary hero, his sense of sacrifice and his iconic theme tune.
