Origin and world of the character (Lore)Centrally introduced in the post-apocalyptic role-playing video game Fallout: New Vegas (2010) developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks, Caesar - whose real name is Edward Sallow - is the founder and absolute dictator of Caesar's Legion. A former Disciple of the Apocalypse sent on an anthropological mission to the Grand Canyon, he uses his knowledge of ancient Roman history to forcibly unite 86 primitive wasteland tribes under a single militaristic, ruthless and totalitarian banner. Rejecting complex modern technology in favour of brute force, slavery and iron discipline, Caesar seeks to seize Hoover Dam and the city of New Vegas to establish the final capital of his empire against the Republic of New California (RNC).
