Character background and universe (Lore)

Cloud Strife is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VII. A former member of SOLDIER who has become a mercenary, at the start of the adventure he joins the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, which is fighting against the Shinra Company and the intensive exploitation of Mako energy.

Behind his aloof and self-assured demeanour, Cloud harbours a past far more complex than he lets on. His memories, his identity and his connection to Sephiroth play a central role in the plot of Final Fantasy VII and explain much of his development throughout the adventure.

His appearance has become one of the most recognisable in Japanese video games: spiky blond hair, a dark outfit and, above all, the immense Buster Sword, a weapon intimately linked to his story. This soft toy naturally offers a much gentler interpretation of the character, whilst retaining enough detail to remain instantly recognisable.

Throughout his journey alongside Tifa, Aerith, Barret and their companions, Cloud gradually transforms from a detached mercenary into a character deeply involved in the fate of the planet and those around him.
