Character background and lore

Sephiroth is one of the central characters in Final Fantasy VII. A former elite member of SOLDIER, he was long regarded as a hero and one of Shinra’s most powerful fighters.

However, discovering the truth about his origins profoundly shook his worldview. Sephiroth then developed an obsession with Jenova and set out on a path that led him to become the main adversary of Cloud Strife and his companions.

His appearance has become instantly recognisable: long silver hair, a black cloak, a piercing gaze and, above all, his immense Masamune sword. His presence, his composure and his power have helped to make him one of the most famous antagonists in the Final Fantasy franchise.

The relationship between Cloud and Sephiroth is one of the central themes of Final Fantasy VII. Square Enix, in fact, directly highlights this connection by marketing the two ‘Another Form Variant’ soft toys as complementary products.
