Possessing the millennial lifespan characteristic of her race, Frieren perceives time in a radically different way from her human companions, for whom a decade represents a vast portion of their existence. Deeply affected by Himmel’s natural death and haunted by the regret of not having sought to get to know him better, she embarks on a new journey across the continent. Whilst collecting unusual folk spells and training her young apprentice Fern, she follows in the footsteps of her past to unravel the mysteries of the human soul and understand the meaning of the fleeting bonds she has forged.
