The NorthRemembers is the first episode of the second season of the HBO medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones. The episode was broadcast on¹ April 2012. It was written by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, and directed by Alan Taylor, who returns to the cast.

Episode summary

Determined to avenge his father's death, the new King in the North, Robb Stark, continues his war against the Lannisters and the young King Joffrey. But there are more contenders for the Iron Throne, including Stannis Baratheon, backed by a priestess of a strange god. Meanwhile, Jon Snow and the Night's Watch continue their march beyond the Wall while Daenerys and the remnants of her khalasar are forced to cross the Red Waste. Later, all the bastards are executed, probably on Joffrey's orders (it's not explicitly stated at this point).
