Origin and world of the character
Mike Dirnt (born Michael Ryan Pritchard) is the co-founder, bassist and backing vocalist of American punk rock band Green Day, which he formed in 1987 alongside his childhood friend Billie Joe Armstrong. This figurine is a direct tribute to the legendary album Dookie, released in 1994, a Grammy Award-winning masterpiece that catapulted the trio to international stardom. The figurine's design was inspired by their cult video clip 'Basket Case', a legendary song about anxiety. In this historic video set in the heart of a psychiatric institute, Mike Dirnt adopts a posture and look faithful to the alternative scene of the 90s, making this piece a superb collector's duo to pair with the Billie Joe figurine.
